About Us

The Quay complex was bought by Charan Gill MBE in April 2007. Charan has spent most of his life in the catering industry and from humble beginnings in a small restaurant in Glasgow, he built the successful and well known Harlequin Leisure Group which became the largest chain of Indian restaurants in the country. For his hard work, he was awarded an MBE for his services to the catering industry. He sold Harlequin and thought about taking life easy. That was until he came across the The Quay Complex in Musselburgh and the lure to develop the business at this stunning location was too strong to ignore.

In August of 2007, the complex was fully refurbished and modernised at a cost of £750,000 to reflect his commitment to this venture.

Vision

The Quay is a venue committed to deliver a much needed service for the people of East Lothian and our focus is to serve the needs of our guests to the best of our ability, whether they are weddings, christenings, parties or funerals. This is a facility that belongs to the people, we are just the managers.
